Moran Shitrit

Course of Urbanistica
Year: 2011-2012
My expectation:
I hope from that course, to give a bit graphic techniques, to show me new points of view about planning maps, new, creative and design maps .hope I'll be able to express my planning in a better way through designing, and to learn new software.

My city:
I live in Jerusalem, Israel.
Jerusalem is a city that contains a variety of persons from different religions and culture: Jews, Islamic, Christian… which can be seen in the city through building and architecture and the people dressing codes and can be hear by the many language speaking in the streets.
A city that was built on the mountain, where there isn't even one flat piece through all of the city, and it's making you go up and down the hills.
The city is surrounded by forest from one side and deserts from the other.
The old city is near the center city where traffics control the roads, narrow streets full of people that always in a hurry to some next place, around the center there small neighborhoods all constructed from the same stone (the Jerusalem stone) and red roofs.
Jerusalem is not a big city and still very complicated and messy, I guess that for tourists the city would look like a big mess of traffic roads and houses all located without any sense of order or logic, and still it is a city that survive thousand of years of empires, rulers and wars that are still going on, it is a city that holy for three different religions which every one of them declare the city to herself.
